Chile's Torres del Paine and Argentina's Los Glaciares National Parks
are among the great scenic wonders of the world! This is a pilgrimage which
all passionate mountain-lovers must do at least once in their
lifetime. This extraordinary trip brings you to the very heart of
both of these legendary regions. We begin in remote reaches of Los
Glaciares Park with spectacular views of Cerro Torre, Fitzroy and
the Southern Patagonia Ice Field.
Next, we cross into Chile, where we explore Torres del Paine, an
icon for dramatic mountain scenery! We'll see jaw-dropping vistas of
rock spires, jagged snowy peaks, the huge expanse of the Patagonia
Ice Field, tranquil azure lakes, and golden grasslands bright with
wildflowers. Each night, we'll savor the days activities over tasty
meals in cozy lodges.

Howard
Donner, MD: Dr. Howard Donner is renowned as
one of the world's most experienced expedition
physicians. He is a also a highly acclaimed speaker on
Wilderness Medicine.
Testimony to Dr. Donner's dynamic speaking ability is
that he has been prominently featured in two
award-winning NOVA television documentaries including;
"Deadly Ascent" which chronicles mountain medicine and
research on 20,320 ft Denali (Mount McKinley); and "Everest
- The Death Zone". Donner served as expedition
doctor on the 1998 NOVA Everest expedition, which was
featured in the television documentary: "Everest: The
Death Zone".
- Dr. Donner spent 3 climbing seasons as a rescue
doctor on Mt. McKinley in Alaska for the National
Park Service at the 14,000 foot medical / rescue
station.
- Dr. Donner has also worked on numerous other
medical projects in the Himalayas including two
seasons as a staff physician for the Himalayan
Rescue Association.
- He was the expedition physician on the first
American ascent of Kangchenjunga, the world's third
highest peak (28,000 feet).
- Donner was chosen as an Olympic physician for
the United States White Water Team in Atlanta in
1996.
- Dr. Donner's extraordinary background in
expedition medicine was the basis for 5 years of
service as a medical operations consultant for NASA,
where he was involved in the design of the Shuttle
and International Space Station medical systems.
- Dr. Donner is also co-author of The Field Guide
to Wilderness Medicine (3rd edition was published in
August of 2008).
