Tahiti is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful and exotic places on earth. Sailing is perhaps the best way to experience the magic of the Leeward Islands of Tahiti. Trade winds will carry you to spectacular islands like Bora Bora that have cast their spell on so many writers and painters.

The sailing is mostly inside gorgeous barrier reefs that offer protection. Youll be able to sea kayak in idyllic lagoons and bask on beautiful beaches. Youll see towering waterfalls and snorkel above dazzling reefs, rich with exotic colors. Youll experience the gracious welcoming traditions of the gentle people of these islands.

Tahiti -- Typical 7-day Itinerary

Day 1 After chart briefing and orientation, depart for Tahaa, sailing inside the reef to Motu Mahaeafor, a good snorkeling afternoon. Anchor in Apu Bay for the night.

Day 2 Leave early for a 5-hour reach to Bora-Boras western shore. Anchor at Motu Tupe, swimming and snorkeling in the beautiful lagoon.

Day 3 Early in the morning, discover the traditional Lagoonarium where you can swim with turtles, friendly rays, sharks and different kinds of fish. In the afternoon, sail down to the southern shore of BoraBora and explore the magnificent coral garden.

Day 4 Discover the lagoon of Bora-Bora under sail. This is a lagoon where you could happily20spend the rest of your days contemplating the Pahia and Otemanu mountains. Anchor for the night close by Bloody Marys restaurant.

Day 5 Back to Raiatea for reprovisioning and an overnight at Faaroa Bay.

Day 6 Early in the morning, explore the Apoomao river by dinghy. Enjoy an afternoon sail to Tahaa island and anchor in Hurepiti bay on Tahaas western shore.

Day 7 Sailing inside the lagoon, stop at Motu Tautau for snorkeling. Anchor for the night back in Apu Bay. Final Morning Sail back to the Moorings base and return the boat by 10:00 a.m.

Trip cost: $3,595 per person (double occupancy; Includes 7 days / 6 nights aboard a Moorings, Inc. Signature Crewed Catamaran yacht with all meals.)

Additional CME Cost: $695 (16 hrs Category I CME)

Bareboat Option: People also have the option of bareboat chartering their own boat through the Moorings and joining our floatilla. These folks need only need to pay the $695 CME fee.
